When I started writing this post, I wasn't sure I had a lot of exciting events to share. Sure, I ran a few races, but I was side-lined with a shoulder injury in the 2nd half of the year and had to miss out on a few fun opportunities. But then I started looking through my pictures from the past year and a lot of good memories came flooding back.
2016 was the year that I became an action figure. The action figure me is quite well-endowed.
In March I ran the 2016 Dallas rock 'n' Roll half marathon and froze my butt off! I am on the 2016 Rock 'n' Blog team!
This picture cost $29 + tax. Yes, this one picture.
In May we did Yoga on the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge.
In June Russ and I went to San Diego and I ran the Rock 'n' Roll San Diego half marathon while lazy bones slept in. (Let's see if he reads this.) This picture was worth the $29 + tax that I paid.
In June I led a boot camp class for ComCardio's grand opening celebration for Premier Protein and was on local TV news segment. I am a 2016 Premier Protein trainer ambassador!
In July I went to Los Angeles for the IDEA World Fitness convention and BlogFest and was inspired.
...and I met Jenna Wolfe.
In August I got my Revo2lution Running certification. This is Jason Karp at IDEA World.
In August Russ and I celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary. This picture is from 1998 because I think it is the last time he let me take a picture of him.
In September the lovely and talented Alison Moshart came to Dallas with the Kills. I haven't updated my music blog since 2013 or else I would tell you all about it. Just go see her if you have the chance.
In September we went to Pittsburgh to celebrate my 42 birthday.
We came home with some souvenirs.
My shoulder injury sucks and sidelined me for a better part of the year. I wore this sling on the day of this pic and never again. I was just being dramatic. I had to skip the Vegas and San Antonio half marathons. The swinging arm motion from running would irritate my shoulder so I couldn't train for long distances. I plan to make my comeback in 2017!
As always, Ollie and I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for following along, friends. Here's to 2017! Better than ever.
