I'm both Thrilled and Terrified about Lea Genders Fitness

I am both thrilled and terrified to tell you about my latest venture www.leagendersfitness.com. Since I blog about (almost) everything, you probably already know that I recently passed my NASM personal trainer certification, became intensely inspired at BlogFest and returned home with a head full of ideas and dreams.

I came home from BlogFest with a completely different mindset than when I left. I went there thinking that I was happy to have passed my personal training certification, that I wanted it mostly for my own knowledge and to give me some authority behind my writing and this blog.

I came home from BlogFest wanting to share my knowledge, to serve my community and help people.

My biggest fear was that I wouldn't do anything. I feared that I wouldn't take the necessary action and those dreams would start to fade as fast my last hair dye job.

What would keep me from taking action? Fear. What is the theme of the last couple of sentences? Fear. A couple weeks went by and I didn't do much of anything. Just do something, I told myself. Anything.

So I did what I do best. I made a website. I knew these past four years of blogging and ten years of running were leading up to something big. Since you can't throw a stone in DFW without hitting a personal trainer, I knew I needed a niche. I want to help runners get strong, to help them become better runners, less prone to injury and all around better athletes. Since I am a runner, I get runners. I can help runners.

My grandmother passed away last month. She was 101 years old and led a full healthy life right up until the end. She was beautiful, funny and kind. Even though she was 101, I sort of thought she would live forever because she was so healthy and active. I hope I inherited some of her good genes.

She left me a very small sum of money and I decided in her honor, I would use the money towards my business. I know she would have liked that. The first thing I bought with Grandma's money was a website and a domain name.

I'm excited to introduce you to my new website and my new business in Fort Worth, TX, Lea Genders Fitness

I'd love it if you would check it out. I'd appreciate any feedback on design and functionality.

I am also looking for testimonials to share on the new website. I probably haven't trained you in person, but if you have ever been inspired or motivated by this blog, I'd love it if you would share a sentence or two I could use on my site. Here are some of my testimonials so far. My email is lea genders@gmail.com if you feel so inclined.

(Deep breath) Keep moving forward. Grandma would be proud.

  1. Lea, my condolences on your Grandmother's passing. I like your site, very clear, colors are great, the links work, except for the ones I guess you're not ready to yet, either way anyone who goes to it knows what's coming from the photo and words. I love to run myself, and have not been doing it as often as I usually do for several reasons that I won't go into now. But I must say I like that strength training is a part of what you offer because that is very important. I found that doing weights and yoga helped a lot. I will definitely be back to read with you and see what else is going on. Good job, your gram would be proud!

I like your site--it looks clean, professional, inviting, and easy to use. I'm still trying to come up with a good testimonial and then I will send it your way!
