Rock 'n Roll Running Playlist

I don't always run with music. Most of the time I run with a running partner. When I run alone, I generally enjoy the quiet time with my thoughts. With the cold weather upon us, it is just about time to reintroduce myself to the dreaded treadmill, otherwise known as the dreadmill. Now, don't get me wrong, the dreadmill has its place, it will just never match the experience for me of running outdoors.

I signed up for a no-contract membership to LA Fitness to get me through these winter months. It was time to update my running playlist to survive my dreadmill workouts. The last thing I want to be alone with on a dreadmill, is my thoughts.

During my usual daily Pinterest browsing, I came across this cool site:

Jog.fm tells you the beats per minute (BPM) of popular songs. You enter your desired pace and it tells you what songs have the right number of BMP for your pace. For a running pace of 9:00 per mile, jog.fm recommended workout music at 160 BPM. They provide a list of songs with your BPM and you can even sort by genre! Thank God for that, although Britney had a song that fit within my pace, I dont want my ears to bleed while I run. After all, if you read my blog post about it, my toes are already probably bleeding.

I looked up the songs on my current playlist to see the BPM. They only had popular music, (no Dead Weather, what?) so only about half my songs were listed. So I just looked on the site for artists that I already owned and added a few songs that fit my pace to my running playlist on my iPod.

In the future if I need to spice up my running playlist I probably will check here for individual songs to buy on iTunes. Without further ado, my rock 'n roll running playlist (in no particular order because I always listen on shuffle anyway.)
